Robert answers some questions: The Leaked Trailer, The Avengers and Chris Evans.

When asked if he was aware of Sunday's leaked trailer, Downey answered, "Yes, I did. I'm happy it leaked and I'm happy it was taken down." The 'Iron Man' actor then went on to say, "I said this at comic-con last year - that it was an incredibly ambitious idea, and the fact that we're getting close to having completed realizing it, I have some pride about that."

When asked about his 'Captain America' co-star, Chris Evans, Downey proclaimed, "Hes really sharp, hes really fun and hes created I think just the right tone for Steve Rogers. I mean Captain America is the original gangster of the Marvel universe," Downey continued, "So I think Avengers doesn't really work unless he works, so I tip my hat to him."

And lastly, when asked how production on The Avengers was progressing, Downey revealed, "I actually think I have four days left," and jokingly continued, "So I have contributed significantly."

The Many Faces of Sherlock Holmes: Robert Downey Jr

Sherlock Holmes stands out among fictional characters insofar as a staggering amount of actors have interpreted him on the stage and screen for over a hundred years. Holmes himself has been called numerous things: intellect, superhero, amateur, specialist, addict, liar, egomaniac, and most recently “a functional sociopath.” But has anyone really nailed it all? Which actors throughout the years have given us the best Sherlock Holmes?

Robert Downey Jr.

In 2009, Guy Ritchie decided to remind us that Holmes could handle himself in a fight as well as be an awesome intellect. Robert Downey Jr. then punched, kicked and shot his way through a pseudo-steampunk version of Sherlock Holmes. What irritated me about this movie actually had nothing to do with Downey Jr. Instead, the level of physical violence annoyed me. I get extremely tired of people telling me how “in the books Holmes fights people.” Let’s be serious, this doesn’t happen that often, and just because Holmes and Watson can take care of themselves in a dust-up doesn’t mean they are thugs. And in the Guy Ritchie movie, they’re thuggish.
BUT, this is not to say that Robert Downey Jr. isn’t a good Holmes. He’s actually great as Holmes. He combines the intellect with the insanity with such a smooth ease that sometimes you forget he’s the famous actor that he is. In terms of an actor who really shows how messy and screwed up Holmes is, Downey Jr. might be the best ever. This is closer to what Conan Doyle intended; a messy addict who happens to be more brilliant than everyone around him. The only problem I have with this Holmes is that he occupies a boring action-movie narrative. Both the character and Downey Jr.’s portrayal are better than this.

Do you want to know the other actors who played Sherlock Holmes? Do you already know?

The official SITE of Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows

SH2 plot finally here!

Sherlock Holmes has always been the smartest man in the room… until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large—Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris)—and not only is he Holmes’ intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective.
When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead, the evidence, as construed by Inspector Lestrade (Eddie Marsan), points to suicide. But Sherlock Holmes deduces that the prince has been the victim of murder—a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by one Professor Moriarty.
Mixing business with pleasure, Holmes tracks the clues to an underground gentlemen’s club, where he and his brother, Mycroft Holmes (Stephen Fry) are toasting Dr. Watson on his last night of bachelorhood. It is there that Holmes encounters Sim (Noomi Rapace), a Gypsy fortune teller, who sees more than she is telling and whose unwitting involvement in the prince’s murder makes her the killer’s next target. Holmes barely manages to save her life and, in return, she reluctantly agrees to help him.
The investigation becomes ever more dangerous as it leads Holmes, Watson and Sim across the continent, from England to France to Germany and finally to Switzerland. But the cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead as he spins a web of death and destruction—all part of a greater plan that, if he succeeds, will change the course of history.

Robert and Susan, Beverly Hills (July 7, 2011)

Robert Downey Jr. went for lunch with wife Susan Downey at Damone Roberts in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday, July 7th, 2011. Once spotted by the paparazzi, the couple made a quick getaway to carry on with their day.
With Comic Con nearly two weeks away, it has everyone talking about who could potentially show up and surprise legions of geeks in one fell swoop. A name that keeps popping up of course is RDJ due to his involvement with The Avengers film. (and also because is absolutely awesome!)
So while the film continues to shoot, fans will cross their fingers that at least one of the guys from the film that stunned fans in Hall H last year, will make a special appearance.

Sherlock Holmes production stills

The waiting for the sequel of Sherlock Holmes is hard I know... and I wish the trailer is going to come out in the end of the next week as sources said.
Meanwhile I found other production stills around the web and I hope you like them!

The Avengers: "One word... QUINJET!" Joe Quesada said.

Joe Quesada, Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, went to the set of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers a few days ago in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was joined by Brian Michael Bendis and Matt Fraction, likely as members of the Creative Committee to work on the comic-film connections and bigger Marvel Studios universe.
Screen Rant wasn’t part of the press group that went to The Avengers set unfortunately so we’ll take what we can from Quesada’s latest tweet from June 27th which simply read:

We know the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier will be introduced in The Avengers so it’s not surprising to also see confirmation that the Quinjet vehicles will be introduced as well. The Quinjet is a fighter jet style air vehicle used by S.H.I.E.L.D and The Avengers. In the comics, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) takes possession of these vehicles, but more interestingly, they were developed by Black Panther’s Wakanda Design Group. Setup for Black Panther introduction in the Marvel Studios film universe?

Ryan Reynolds & Chris Hemswirth ARE NOT Robert Downey Jr!

Robert Downey Jr., an Oscar-nominated actor with something to prove after well-chronicled drug problems, brought his innate charm and comic timing to "Iron Man," setting the bar high for future actors in comic book roles.
It helped that he was working with a good director with a light comic touch (Jon Favreau) and a good script.
Neither "Green Lantern" star Ryan Reynolds or "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth could measure up to that standard. Nor, for that matter, are Martin Campbell and Kenneth Branagh known for their comedic touch.
These projects are comic book adaptations, remember.
